  • then DJ PJ is back spoiling you with legendary anti war tunes and more :)
Contest for - if not Nobel Peace Prize - at least Best in YOU! Trivia and the usual Thursday PJ's fun!

What's your comments on the anti war movement associated with Woodstock festival? It seems to be a touchy subject. Some deny it was even a part of the festival evethough anti war slogans were shouted out mic between songs, Jimi Hendrix performed the star spangeled banner in a very horrifying war sounding way, many many songs were played directly or indirectly questioning the Vietnam war etc. It's history, why distort it? Why do people get upset when I want to show that side of what was happening 40 years ago? Does it make me a terrorist? Anti-american? A crazed Stalinist?

Personally I think it's unfair to the memory of the festival to claim it was "just music, drugs, sex and flowers". And it was definately about much MORE than the above as well. I think it's interesting and important to try be aware weather you kitchify or romanticize something. What do you think? Please comment :)
